PSR Survey Advising

Our free survey advising service, led by the PSR Preceptor for Survey Research, has significantly grown over the past seveal years. At this point, we have advised affiliates from every Harvard faculty. In addition to providing one-on-one consultations to faculty about projects, we have developed several sets of customized recommendations for individual needs, such as in-person interviewer training resources, specialized vendor lists, and reference materials for interview validation.

One-on-One Advising

The Program on Survey Research maintains a survey research advising service to help students and faculty design, work with, and understand surveys and survey research methods. Contact PSR at psr-info@lists.iq.harvard.edu to arrange an appointment.

Other Advising Services

  • Honors Thesis Advising – Undergraduate honors thesis students and graduate students preparing independent research projects and dissertation proposals are encouraged to bring questions or problems about survey design the Preceptor.
  • Specialized Workshops – The Program on Survey Research conducts general and specialized workshops about the survey research process for Harvard departments, affiliates, and student organizations. If you are interested in having PSR present a workshop, please contact PSR at psr-info@lists.iq.harvard.edu.
  • Supplemental Services – Our free advising service currently provides any Harvard Affiliate with limited consulting services for many parts of the survey process, including review of sample and design options, questionnaire and protocol review, and external vendor selection. Special project assistance requiring in excess of five (5) hours of consultation may be also available on an hourly basis.
